Long-term/Skilled care
Our twenty-four hour Nursing Staff is educated and trained to meet the different aspects of skilled care for rehabilitation, dementia, and wound care for the elders in our care. Hospice Care is available at Sunny Acres for the terminally ill though our affiliate, VNA Hospice Care of Illinois. We also offer comfort care and end of life services. Based on availability, we have Respite Care and Day Services. Our Medical Director and Pharmacist are on call 24 hours a day. Laboratory and radiology services are available. You can feel secure that someone is near to provide quality care for you or those you love.
Daily Activities
Quality of life is important to all of us and the pursuit of activities and hobbies of interest is a great way to enhance our daily living. Our wish for you is that you enjoy each day to its fullest. It is your choice; you can be as social or as private as you wish. Sunny Acres strives to offer diverse activities in which the residents may participate and socialize with friends and neighbors. You may indulge your creative side during arts and crafts or cooking with the activity staff. We also offer table games, active games, exercise, music, socials, movies, and parties each month. Join in as many or as few activities as you choose. Many other activities are scheduled each month as well as spontaneous activities. We encourage independent activities of past interest as well as group activities.
There are several common areas, including the beautifully landscaped gazebo area, where you may visit with family and friends. If you are looking for a cozy corner to play cards with friends, read a good book, or just sit quietly and daydream you can find that special spot in the home or on the grounds. Visiting musicians, community member led activities, outings on our activity van, and visiting community church services offer continuing opportunities for important community contacts.
Sunny Acres encourages visits from pets, although we ask that they are well-behaved and current on their shots. We also ask that pets not be in the dining room during meal times.
Sunny Acres also has beauticians and their services are available by appointment in the salon on the premises. The business office accepts payment in advance for beautician and barber services.
Dietary Services
We offer three delicious home cooked buffet style meals each day in our three dining rooms. You will have a choice of entrees, potatoes, vegetables, desserts, and a salad bar. The coffee and juice bar is always available to the residents any time day or night. We also offer therapeutic diets for those residents who may need or choose them.
Local Transport
We have an activity bus for rides, outings and shopping trips for our residents.
